I found out this great quote from saint Therese of Lisieux:
“Do you realize that Jesus is there in the tabernacle expressly for you – for you alone? He burns with the desire to come into your heart… don’t listen to the demon, laugh at him, and go without fear to receive the Jesus of peace and love…”
You see, our struggle for recovery from PD is actually an ancient struggle between good (heart) and bad (ego) that exist as long as conscious humans existed. Many people, especially saints and sages had to go through and are still going through this war. Only difference is that we (PD people) are motivated, at least initially, by our lack of health. Saints and sages are motivated because they early experienced futility of this earthly world and they wanted to develop their soules on only true source of love – God.
So do not listen to your demon (your ego), laugh at him. Instead listen, with all your strength, to the voice of Jesus (your heart).
Thank you!
Good advice and wisdom.
Thank you Rebecca!
I like how you wrote it. It’s a fight but we can win it with God. Keep it up God will protect you.
Thank you Ragib!
