14a. Not fearing of symptoms

Fearing of symptoms is typical reaction of people with Parkinson’s disease. This is why this disease has cyclical nature (please read post: “4a. Cyclic nature of Parkinson’s disease“). The more you fear the stronger Parkinson’s gets.

FEAR

“Oh no, my symptoms changed for worse” or “Oh no, i look bad in public” or “Oh no, i am going to end up in wheelchair” are typical fearful reaction that you just need to let go.

Now, what to do? Simple – stop fearing. Definition of fear is: “an unpleasant emotion caused by the threat of danger, pain, or harm”. You are in control of your emotions. In this and probably in most cases, you do not need fear. Parkinson’s symptoms are just a sign that you have Parkinson’s. That’s it, no need of fearing the Parkinson’s symptoms. You shouldn’t be afraid of anything in this life, even death.
What was famous quote from Franklin D. Roosevelt: “Only Thing We Have to Fear Is Fear Itself”:
Why you should be afraid of Parkinson’s? No need, it only worsens the situation. Be fearless. It’s up to you at the end, simple as that.
Train your mind that you are not afraid of anything. This is essential for fighting Parkinson’s.
Thank you!
